Architect/Technician
Location: County Hall, PR1 8RE
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 23.17 per hour

Responsibilities
Design and specify building projects in line with current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
Manage projects through planning applications, building regulations, and listed building consent under the guidance of the Principal Architect.
Oversee external consultants as part of the design team, ensuring KPIs are met, and quality is maintained.
Proactively liaise with other services within LCC and across other disciplines within the Building Design Team and wider Design and Construction Service.
Provide specialist technical advice and support within LCC and across other disciplines within the Building Design Team and wider Design and Construction Service.
Lead discussions related specifically to architectural issues.
Support the Principal Architect in the delivery of all projects.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
Hold a relevant degree (or equivalent), plus significant post-qualification experience. (Essential)
Formal professional qualifications within the specialism (if applicable). (Essential)
Experience:
Proven, demonstrable track record in architectural design. (Essential)
Experience of working on projects through planning applications, building regulations, and listed consent stages as applicable. (Essential)
Experience of working within/for the public sector. (Desirable)
Experience of working in different operational areas, for a range of clients and service users. (Essential)
Evidence of providing specialist architectural technical advice and support to clients, team members, and across other disciplines. (Essential)
Experience of managing projects, delivering them within time and budget, to the quality expectations of a client. (Essential)
Management and coordination of external consultants in the design and delivery of projects, including performance and quality monitoring and management. (Desirable)
Knowledge and Skills:
The design, specification, and delivery of building projects in accordance with current guidelines, standards, and regulations. (Essential)
Ability to provide effective support and implement and deliver effective change. (Essential)
Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills. (Essential)
Demonstrable knowledge of the application, principles, theory, and practice of architectural design/technical design and delivery. (Essential)
Good understanding of other building and engineering-related disciplines or requirements of these in the effective design, coordination, and delivery of projects. (Essential)
Ability to apply technical/specialist judgment to ensure projects are compliant with design standards. (Essential)
Very good understanding of the Design and Construction business or experience in working within a similar business environment. (Desirable)
Proficient in AUTOCAD and REVIT. (Essential)
Proficient in NBS. (Desirable)
