PE Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part-time, Monday to Friday (12:15pm – 3:15pm)
Pay: £89–£105 per day (pro rata)
Start Date: November 2025
Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and engagement through sport and positive relationships? GSL Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant with PE experience to join a friendly and supportive primary school in York.
About the Role:
* Support pupils during afternoon sessions, including leading PE-based interventions and small group activities.
* Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and confidence through active learning.
* Build strong, relatable relationships with pupils to encourage participation and engagement.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to maintain a calm, supportive learning environment.
PE Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children in a school or sports coaching environment.
* Confident leading physical activities and small group interventions.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to relate well to pupils.
* An enthusiastic, patient, and proactive approach.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
