Ward Clerk

An opening has become available for a friendly and enthusiastic Ward Clerk to join our busy permanent Relief Team. The post holders will provide cover at a variety of bases across the trust sites depending on staffing requirements.
This post is full time, Monday - Sunday working shifts between 7.00am and 21.00.

Main duties of the job
To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals. To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning. To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System. To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients.

Person Specification
Experience
 * Previous experience of office or reception experience
 * Understand Data Protection Act and the need for confidentiality.
 * Knowledge of Patient Administration System for admissions, transfers and discharges gained through in-house training and induction.
 * Knowledge of software packages such as word and access/excel.
