Job Description: Harvest Supervisor Location: UK - Fresh Produce Sector Role Overview: As Harvest Supervisor, you will oversee the harvesting of fresh produce crops, ensuring that fruit is picked to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and food safety. The business produces over 3,000 tonnes of berries per year, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and other speciality crops. This is a key leadership role, coordinating teams of pickers and supervisors to ensure that harvest operations are well organised, targets are achieved, and produce is delivered on time to meet packhouse and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Supervise day-to-day harvest operations across berry crops, ensuring efficient and high-quality picking. Train, mentor, and support harvest teams to achieve productivity and quality standards. Prepare and implement daily manning and harvest plans in line with crop assessments and expected yields. Monitor crop performance, reporting yield, quality, and labour efficiency to senior management. Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards. Work closely with Packhouse, Growing, and Logistics teams to coordinate harvest flow. Encourage a positive, motivated team culture to maximise performance and staff retention. Maintain accurate harvest records, including pick rates, output, and staffing. Essential Skills & Experience: Previous supervisory experience in fresh produce, agriculture, or related field. Strong leadership and people-management skills, especially with seasonal or temporary workers. Knowledge of crop husbandry, harvesting methods, and quality standards. Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Awareness of food safety and health & safety requirements.
