A well-established engineering business is looking to recruit an Applications Design Engineer to join their team. This is a key position supporting both technical and commercial activities, with a strong focus on customer interaction and engineering design.
Key Responsibilities
* Support customers with technical queries, RFQs, and application requirements.
* Produce and maintain accurate engineering drawings and documentation.
* Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
* Prepare quotations in line with company margins and support contract reviews.
* Act as a key technical point of contact for customers, providing guidance and problem-solving support.
* Manage communication around pricing, lead times, and technical specifications.
* Lead the implementation of DriveWorks within the business.
* Take ownership of the system, including configuration, rules, and workflows.
* Develop automation for drawings, BOMs, models, and quotations.
* Work cross-functionally to define inputs, constraints, and outputs.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased automation.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and production processes.
Candidate Profile
* Mechanical Engineering background.
* Experience working with engineering drawings and design processes.
* Strong technical and commercial awareness.
* Understanding of manufacturing or precision engineering environments.
* Confident communicator with customer-facing experience.
* Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload effectively.
* Interest or experience in design automation.
Salary
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
