We are offering a great opportunity to learn all about primary care in a 35 hour a week post, where you will be working across the the secretary and administrator teams and getting to experience how a surgery works. Duties include: Referring patients to secondary care. Patient contact in reception. Dealing with requests. Managing medical letters. Opening post. Scanning and coding. Dealing with prescriptions. Liaising with GPs, nurses and other members of the team and outside agencies. The job will be challenging and busy so if enjoy being active and engaged in your work, we would love to hear from you. About the Candidate We would welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience: Ideally you would have some medical experience, but we are willing to train the right person for our team. Touch-typing skills and writing letters. Strong administrative experience and good organisation skills. Ideally some knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent general IT skills including MS Office Ideally experience of working with a clinical system Excellent communication skills. Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times. Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure.
