Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist school in the Royston area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September 2025.
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students aged 9–19 with complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils in their daily routines, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning programmes
Supporting students with personal care needs (including toileting and feeding)
Encouraging independence and promoting positive behaviour
Working collaboratively with the wider staff team and families
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school, care, or support setting)
Comfortable and confident in supporting personal care
A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable students
Enhanced Child only DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
Availability for full-time work, Monday to Friday, term-time only
