Care Support Worker – Children & Young Adults Service
St Oswald’s Hospice are looking for a caring and dedicated Care Support Worker to join their team. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to deliver care and provide a range of activities to meet the assessed needs of the Children & Young Adults who access our service and to support their families with that care. Job Details
- Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Salary: £24,853 – £25,491 per annum (plus allowance for unsocial hours)
- NHS pension may be transferable.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care and provide a range of activities to meet assessed needs of children and young adults with life‑limiting illnesses.
- Support families in providing appropriate care.
- Maintain accurate and concise records, using effective communication skills.
- Cover shifts as required across a 24‑hour, 7‑day rota.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with children/young adults with complex health needs in an education, health or social care setting.
- Effective communication skills and ability to record information accurately & concisely.
- Flexibility to cover a range of shifts over a 24 hour / 7 day rota.
- Existing right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
- Ability to carry out an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check upon appointment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of vulnerable individuals.
