We are looking for a Solutions Design Analyst to join our team to support the development of new and existing Distribution Centre developments. In this role you will provide technical process insight to support the decision making of the Lead Project Engineer and other stakeholders, this will involve input into overall site design, automation design and operational design. You will provide the Lead Project Engineer with understanding into key automation and operational design elements of key strategic investments, seeing through the delivery at all stages of the project lifecycle completing rigorous review of solution design to ensure business case deliverables are achieved.

Role details:
Salary: £55,000-£65,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday – Friday
Location: Midlands, Waterside (London) or Chineham (Basingstoke) - This role requires national travel therefore you must be able to travel to multiple locations around the UK and at times outside the UK.
What you’ll do:
Your key accountabilities will include:
10. Deliver data-driven insights (e.g. material flow, simulation, capacity modelling) to identify requirements, remove bottlenecks and optimise operations
11. Produce clear, concise documentation and support robust business cases, including benefits analysis, critical path and impact assessments
12. Design and implement efficient physical and system processes (including layouts, ergonomics, system logic and product flow) to maximise resource use and minimise cost per unit
13. Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers from tender through to delivery, ensuring solutions meet business requirements
14. Lead testing and implementation activities (UAT/SIT and supplier testing), supporting successful system integration, start-up and benefits realisation
15. Influence stakeholders and drive adoption of large-scale change through strong communication, presentation and end-to-end supply chain understanding
16. Define & conduct the supplier testing strategy with site teams. Alongside the Project Engineering team, other M&S functions and suppliers incl design & document tests, you will deliver the testing activities on site and support start-up to ensure benefits delivery
Who you are:
Your skills and experience will include:
17. Strong expertise in work measurement and lean methodologies, with knowledge of MTM, pre-measured time standards, and Six Sigma/DMAIC principles
18. Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail; advanced skills in MS Excel, Access, and strong documentation using MS Office
19. Proven experience in automated distribution centres and deep understanding of material flow across automated and manual operations
20. Experience in warehouse control systems, including testing and code implementation
21. Self-motivated, results-driven leader with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to travel nationally and internationally
