This post is based at Bedford Hospital. This is an exciting time to be joining Bedford Hospital, which has recently merged with Luton Hospital NHS Trust to become part of the dynamic new Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There has been improved working and strategic developments across both sites and the Trust aims to work towards implementing integration benefits to the fullest in future, which is part of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder may be required to work in other outreach clinics and establishments used in the course of Trust business (if necessary for the role).
Main duties of the job
1. Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients presenting to the Hospital
2. To deliver a high-quality imaging service with a focus on subspeciality interests as applicable
3. To share, with colleagues in the Imaging Department, the management of all patients referred to the Trust
4. To share in the general radiology work of the department including currently a 1 in 12 on call rota
5. To support radiographers and sonographer staff in the department and also be involved in the teaching and training of specialist registrars grade, junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students
6. To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit
7. To have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD)

Essential criteria
8. Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
Desirable criteria
9. Entry on GMC Specialist Register in General Radiology via CCT or CESR
10. Subspecialty training in Neuro/GI/MSK/oncology/Nuclear Medicine Radiology
Qualifications
Essential criteria
11. FRCR or equivalent

12. Postgraduate Degree e.g., MD or equivalent
Clinical Effectiveness

13. Participation in relevant local audits
14. Experience of guideline appraisal
