Position
Aquasition is a small business specialising in remote monitoring of assets and environmental conditions. We do this by deploying battery powered devices that use sensors to take measurements and transmit this data to cloud hosted data platforms. Our work is mainly around water related monitoring but also includes other remote monitoring applications.
We need a person to join our team to assist with both the installation and maintenance of devices on site and the preparation of devices in the office prior to installation. We are a small company, so we need someone willing to undertake any task that needs doing, that might even include making coffee or cleaning the office.
Our installation and maintenance work takes us all over the UK and we occasionally work unsociable hours, so you need to be prepared to work away, sometimes at night and occasionally at the weekend.
As much of our work is outside, you need to be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
We have a passion for what we do and are looking for a person with the right attitude to join our small team and grow with the business.
What we are looking for:
No previous experience in this industry is necessary but you need to have some relevant skills and be willing to learn and put this learning into practice.
Ability to work on site safely and effectively, typically as part of a two-person team installing and maintaining instrumentation. Once trained you may occasionally need to work on your own or with third party contractors.
Experience in instrumentation, IoT (Internet of Things), M2M or any other relevant skills would be useful.
You need to be practically minded and familiar with the use of hand and power tools, and computer literate as the configuration of devices requires the use of PC, tablet and phone APPs.
You will need to be, resourceful and creative as installation plans can change.
You won't be fazed by working outside in all weathers and not mind getting your hands dirty.
You will need to be polite and respectful as you will need to liaise with clients and the public.
You won't mind working away, working nights or the occasional weekends.
You will need to have a good attitude to safety, both for yourself and others working with you.
You won't mind driving long distances and sometimes at night as the work takes us all over the UK. You'll need a full, clean manual UK driving licence, held for at least 2 years.
What we can offer you:
Competitive pay, pension, 20 days holiday plus an extra day for each full year of service capping at 5 extra days.
Overtime pay for nights and weekend working.
As we work all over the UK some projects will require you to work away from home, in which case we offer a working away subsistence payment.
In house training and external training as and when required.
No two days are the same, which means you will always be learning and finding new challenges to get stuck into.
· Pay dependent on experience and skills
· Permanent, (37 hours) per week + overtime when available.
· Leave 20 days (+ Bank Holidays), increasing annually to 25 days
· Employer contributory pension scheme
