Are you an experienced global mobility professional with experience working in the public sector?
I am working exclusively with an academic focused government department on an initial 6-month temporary Global Staff Mobility Expert position with the possibility of extension.The government department is looking to bring in a new specialist interim HR team to help the organisation through a busy and challenging time. The Global Staff Mobility Expert will support the organisation by providing knowledge and expertise around immigration, mobility processes and the legal requirements (Tax etc) of hiring/working from abroad. Along with the above, you will keep a track of visa applications with the Home Office. You will work closely with the immigration team and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure everyone is kept up to date throughout the process.
Some of the key duties include:
* Leading on the strategic development and execution of global mobility policies.
* Advising employees, stakeholders, and agencies on international transitions, immigration compliance, and global mobility best practices.
* Having excellent region-specific immigration knowledge, creating a comprehensive global mobility toolkit to improve compliance, cross-departmental collaboration, and operational effectiveness.
* Building and managing relationships with agencies, addressing supplier-related issues, and resolving travel-related challenges to ensure consistency across global mobility initiatives.
* Offering strategic consultations to senior leadership on complex mobility and immigration compliance matters, while collaborating with recruitment, people operations, and Immigration teams to drive best practices and policy improvements.
The role is an outcome focused position and the role will sit outside IR35, paying up to £500 per day. They have offices in both London (Canary Wharf) and Swindon and would like the post holder to be happy to attend either office 1-2 days per week.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the public and private sector. It would be very advantageous to have worked within central government previously in a global mobility position.
