JOB TITLE: Senior Development Manager (Maternity cover)
Salary: £39,588 p/a
The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world. It is housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire. The Royal Armouries is seeking a fundraising professional as maternity cover for the Senior Development Manager to maximise income predominantly through corporate, individual and visitor giving. You will help shape fundraising plans and develop campaigns in support of the Armouries 700 Masterplan.
You will be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines. You will be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation. You will be a persuasive and influential communicator who enjoys building and deepening relationships with supporters and providing supportive line management to two members of the Development team.
Hours: This is a full-time fixed-term maternity cover contract, working 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening work is occasionally required, as will some travel. The role is predominantly Leeds office based with some requirement to work at other Royal Armouries sites, and an option for hybrid working.
Responsibilities
* Maximise income predominantly through corporate, individual and visitor giving.
* Shape fundraising plans and develop fundraising initiatives and campaigns in support of the Armouries 700 Masterplan.
* Engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
* Provide supportive line management to two members of the Development team.
* Work flexibly and to tight deadlines with high levels of initiative and organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Fundraising professional with experience in corporate, major donor, or visitor giving programmes.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Effective and professional communicator able to engage diverse audiences.
* Experience in line management or supervisory roles.
* Ability to work flexibly, travel as required, and operate across multiple sites.
