About the Role
Are you ready to shape the future of cloud security for a major organisation? DIB BVBA Heliowatt has launched a new Cloud Centre of Excellence and seeks a Cloud Security Engineer to be at the heart of this strategic initiative. This pivotal role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic planning to design and implement enterprise-grade cloud security solutions on a self-service cloud platform. You will work within a high-impact, cross-functional team to enable secure innovation across the Group.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of secure cloud services (primarily Azure) within a self-service model.
* Act as the cloud security SME, embedding security principles across compute, storage, networking, RBAC, and containerized environments.
* Build scalable, compliant solutions using Security-as-Code, Terraform, and native cloud tooling.
* Collaborate with delivery teams and represent Group Information Security (GIS) to ensure security is integrated at every layer of the cloud ecosystem.
* Promote DevSecOps practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in cloud security engineering, preferably on Microsoft Azure, within an enterprise setting.
* Strong background in security design covering identity, access management, secure networking, container platforms (Kubernetes / AKS), and infrastructure protection.
* Hands-on knowledge of DevSecOps, IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Veracode, Trivy, and Checkov.
* Familiarity with standards such as CIS, NIST, GDPR, ISO, and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
* Programming/Scripting skills (Python, Go, Groovy) with a focus on secure coding.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Expert in Azure cloud security services (Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, Key Vault, APIM).
* Advocate of Zero Trust models and secure development practices.
* Experience with SIEM & SOAR tools, such as Rapid7.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
* Passionate about cloud innovation and security improvements.
* Certifications like Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate or AWS equivalent.
* Cyber Essentials / NCSC certification or similar.
