Director of Strategic Asset Management & Investment
Salary: £115,000 + 10% car allowance
Contract: Permanent
Help us create places that people are proud to call home. At Housing Plus Group, we’re building a modern, resilient organisation that delivers more for our customers and communities. As our new Director of Strategic Asset Management & Investment, you’ll play a key role in our leadership team, reporting to the Executive Director - Investment & Growth. This is your opportunity to influence strategy at scale, lead change, and deliver real impact across our asset and homeownership portfolio.
The role
This is a leadership role with real scope. You’ll set long-term strategy, oversee major investment programmes, and ensure our homes and estates continue to meet the needs of current and future customers.
You'll lead by example, living our values - Own it, Improve it, Live it - and always putting customers first.
-> What you’ll be leading
* Asset strategy & investment planning - long-term plans shaped by robust stock intelligence and lifecycle data.
* Major works & retrofit - ensuring building safety, Homes Standard delivery, value for money, and strong governance.
* Regeneration & renewal - guiding decisions on retain/renew/dispose through NPV modelling and estate planning.
* Data & innovation - stock condition programmes, digital tools, and smarter ways of working.
* Homeownership & sales - driving ambitious shared ownership, market sales, and disposals targets.
* Commercial & leasehold management - ensuring performance, compliance and customer service.
* Sustainability - leading on energy performance, SAP modelling, retrofit funding (e.g. SHDF/ECO), and carbon reduction.
You’ll also work closely with the Executive Team and Board, presenting insights, managing risks, and making sure we meet all regulatory and safety standards.
-> About you
We’re looking for a values-driven, commercially sharp leader who can combine strategic vision with delivery at pace. You’ll bring:
* Senior leadership experience from a large housing provider (or similar complex, customer-focused setting).
* A strong track record in asset strategy, regeneration, and investment delivery.
* Experience of disposals and in-house sales, with sound commercial judgement.
* Deep knowledge of NPV modelling, stock condition, capital programme planning, and continuous improvement.
* Inclusive leadership style - championing ED&I, building high-performing teams, and making complex ideas easy to understand.
* Professional membership (CIH/RICS/CIOB) desirable, or working towards; comfortable with tech and data.
-> Why join us?
We are one of the leading providers of housing, care and support services in the West Midlands - with over 33,000 homes across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford & Wrekin.
This role offers the chance to have organisation-wide impact. You’ll shape strategy, influence across sectors, and deliver tangible results for customers and colleagues alike.
If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, can flex between strategy and operations, and enjoy turning insight into action - this is the role for you.
