Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
We have a valuable opportunity for an experienced Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join a supportive and well‑established team. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term post based at Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth, with travel to other sites for clinical duties expected.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration.
Main Duties
Supervision of all admissions to the wards; clinical investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted to the Obstetrics & Gynaecology wards; assisting consultants in running the outpatient clinics.
Participation in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions held by the appropriate consultants.
Close cooperation and liaison with colleagues both within and outside the organisation, in multidisciplinary team environments.
Maintaining a high standard of note‑keeping and presenting at weekly clinical case conferences, carrying out audits and involving in teaching junior staff and other professionals.

Clinical Governance
* Participation in clinical audit (or quality improvement project) and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
* Knowledge of risk management
* Knowledge of annual job planning/appraisal review process
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* Valid Certified Advanced Life Support
* Evidence of working towards membership of the Royal College
Experience
* Minimum four years full‑time postgraduate training or equivalent experience
* Core competencies and clinical skills relevant to the post
* NHS experience
* Evidence of leading a team
Teaching
* Willingness to teach all grades of professional multidisciplinary staff
* Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and resident doctors
Other
* Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner
* Flexible approach to the needs of the service
* Welsh speaker (Level 1)
