SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Milk Education is working with a dedicated ASD specialist primary school in Hillingdon to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting this November, with the potential to become permanent.
The school supports pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated communication and learning needs. They provide a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are supported to develop their independence, communication, and life skills.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
* PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
* SCERTS framework
* EQUALS curriculum
* Supporting pupils with EAL (English as an Additional Language)
* Sensory play and sensory-based learning approaches
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with ASD in both 1:1 and small-group settings
* Implementing structured programmes such as PECS, SCERTS, and EQUALS
* Facilitating sensory play activities to support engagement and development
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to provide consistent support
* Creating an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
We are looking for candidates who:
* Have proven SEN experience, ideally in an ASD specialist or primary school setting
* Can confidently implement autism-specific communication and learning strategies
* Are patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with ASD
* Are committed to a long-term role with the opportunity to transition to permanent
