We’re supporting on a major energy infrastructure project and are looking for a QA/QC Engineer with strong mechanical erection experience. This role focuses on ensuring quality compliance across boiler pressure parts installation and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and lead QC inspections on mechanical erection activities (boilers, pressure parts, water wall panels, piping)
* Ensure compliance with drawings, method statements, and ITPs
* Witness inspections including:
* Fit-up, alignment, and dimensional checks
* Bolting/torqueing
* Welding and heat treatment (PWHT)
* Oversee and verify NDT activities (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT)
* Ensure adherence to WPS / PQR and welder qualifications
* Manage QA/QC documentation:
* Inspection reports, material certs (EN 10204)
* Welding logs, NDT reports
* Raise and manage NCRs, RFIs, and corrective actions
* Support testing & commissioning (hydrotests, leak tests, flushing)
* Coordinate subcontractors and support audits/inspections
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* 5–8+ years’ experience in QA/QC for mechanical erection
* Strong background in:
* Boilers / HRSG / power generation / industrial plants
* Welding and NDT processes
* Familiar with standards such as:
* EN 12952, EN 13445, ISO 9001, ISO 3834
* Certifications like CSWIP / BGAS / ISO 9712 (advantageous)
* Strong documentation, communication, and site-based experience
