Luxury Hotel experienced Financial Controller – this role is based on property in Kenya
Mandatory Requirements:
International work experience outside home country, as well as East Africa experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Financial Controller’s role.
A very strong Finance leader with working experience in East Africa or similar location.

The Financial Controller will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for the overall financial leadership of a large luxury resort operating in a remote and culturally diverse environment. Reporting to the General Manager and with a dotted line to Group Finance, the role ensures robust financial controls, compliance with group standards, and strategic financial guidance to support operational excellence and long-term sustainability.
This position requires a seasoned hospitality finance professional with proven experience in international, remote, or developing-market locations—ideally within East Africa—and the ability to thrive in a high-end resort environment.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent strongly preferred)
* Prior experience working in East Africa is mandatory
* Background within luxury resorts, safari lodges, or island destinations
* Experience within an international hotel group environment
* Minimum 5–7 years’ experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role
* Mandatory international work experience outside home country
* Proven experience in remote, hardship, or developing-market locations
* Strong background in hospitality finance, preferably luxury resorts, safari lodges, camps, or island properties
* Solid understanding of multi-currency environments

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management
* Ensure strict compliance with international accounting standards, group policies, and local statutory requirements
* Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity
* Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and senior leadership team
* Provide accurate and timely financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making
* Drive cost control initiatives while maintaining luxury service standards
* Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to group headquarters
* Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting in compliance with Tanzanian law
* Ensure effective multi-currency accounting and reporting
* Lead, mentor, and develop the local finance team
* Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement
* Work effectively with culturally diverse teams and across departments
* Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and external advisors
* Support group initiatives, system implementations, and financial projects
Compensation: US$4,000 (per month – negotiable) + all company benefits including housing, medical, flights, relocation support, etc.
