High Intensity CBT Supervisor

We are recruiting 3 full time permanent CBT Supervisors to join the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service.
Welcome! The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service is a busy caring team consisting of Administration staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners, and Counsellors. We deliver Talking Therapies to the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin which has exciting, diverse and growing modern towns, surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside.
Our NHS Talking Therapies team is a great place to work. We have recently redefined our service offer, including a new leadership structure, and we need your help with the continued development of the new ways of working.
Working as part of the clinical team, you will provide supervision to High Intensity Therapists, and will be instrumental in the oversight and delivery of quality in the service.
You will work closely with the Highly Specialised Modality Leads, Clinical Leadership team and Strategic Operational Lead to ensure clinical governance and the quality of clinical work remains consistently high.
Main duties of the job
You will provide clinical supervision (including case management, clinical skills and reflective practice) of High Intensity Step 3 clinicians within an NHS Talking Therapies service, in an individual and group format.
You will ensure supervisees work safely and professionally, adhering to NHS Talking Therapies Manual, NICE guidelines and professional/service guidance. The post holder will be responsible for their own, small caseload. This will involve the assessment and appropriate treatment of people presenting with mental health problems, working within a Talking Therapies team.
As the clinical supervisor you will attend regular supervision with the Highly Specialised / Senior Therapist for that modality and may have additional areas of responsibility for clinical service development as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications and training
* Significant post Qualification experience from a High Intensity Talking Therapies Course (Post Graduate Diploma) in Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (NHS Talking Therapies) OR Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Level 2 BABCP postgraduate diploma course) AND Full accreditation with a recognised professional body (e.g. BABCP) AND Successful completion of relevant CBT supervision training (e.g. IAPT 5-day HI supervision training)
* Further qualifications in NHSTT approved therapeutic modalities (e.g. EMDR, IPT, DIT, CTfD, BCT, MBCT)
* Accredited clinical supervisor or additional relevant clinical supervision course or training
Experience
* Highly developed experience of working in an NHS Talking Therapies service or similar provider (e.g. private provider OR supporting Talking Therapy services)
* Experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and a track record of delivering therapy in line with the key competences as outlined in Roth & Pilling competency framework.
* Experience delivering supervision to High Intensity Therapists
* Proven track record in meeting agreed/specified service targets
* Experience of liaising with other professional groups
* Experience of delivering Clinical Skills Groups
* Experience of teaching or delivering CPD to colleagues
* Experience of delivering supervision for more than one high intensity therapy
* Experience of working with diverse communities and within a multicultural setting
* Experience of delivering culturally competent clinical supervision or supervision which incorporates wider issues of diversity and inclusion
* Experience of involvement in clinical audit and service developmen1
Skills, Knowledge and abilities
* Demonstrates an understanding of common mental health problems
* Is up to date with their own CPD, ensuring it meets the accreditation standards of their practitioner organisation
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to service users, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
* Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
* Understanding of the Talking Therapies Manual and the requirements
* Knowledge of appropriate NICE Guidance
