An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience HR professional to join our team. Chiltern Railways are responsible for operating a rail service from London Marylebone through to Birmingham, with many stops in-between around the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas.
Job Purpose
This role proactively supports the design and delivery of the People strategy, an integral part of Chiltern's overall business plan.
As a senior member of the HR team, you will partner with clients to create an environment where our people thrive, coaching and advising senior managers across a full generalist remit to support achievement of departmental and overall business objectives.
A trusted partner to key stakeholders, internally at Chiltern and across Arriva Group, you and your team will provide first class support in bringing our business strategies, activities and values to life.
Design and deliver a high performing, professional and responsive operational HR function, providing an exceptional employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Experience:
* Demonstrable experience working as an HR Business partner in a matrix organisation
* Degree or equivalent experience, MCIPD qualified (or equivalent), with significant post qualification experience
* Experience of coaching and influencing stakeholders on a range of people related issues from operational to strategic.
* Trade Union experience, ideally within the rail industry (or comparable industry)
* Experience of implementing initiatives and rolling out new ways of working
* Good knowledge and understanding of HR practices across the employment life cycle
* Good knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR policies.
* Good technical knowledge and experience of change management models
* Demonstrates strong commercial/business led approach to problem solving
