ROLE OBJECTIVE
This is a very challenging and varied role for a very busy and growing poultry processing facility. You will be the go-to person for all matters regarding health, safety, and environmental issues on the site. You will need to be a solutions provider, not just someone who can highlight issues. Your aim is to assist in developing a culture of safe working.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Health and Safety
· Coordinate site wide activities to ensure Health & safety compliance.
· Create/update risk assessments, safe systems of work and safe working agreements/conditions for contractors.
· Active safety auditing, reports, and statistical analysis for site (including annual review safety report and statistics).
· Oversee multiple H&S statutes and schemes relating to food manufacturing / slaughter.
· Work with associated safety-related documentation for site (e.g., labelling, packaging, customer/supplier questionnaires, web-site content).
· Drive accountability for H&S downwards.
· Act as a liaison points for the HSE and the Environment Agency.
· Manage health and safety for site and develop committee meetings.
Others
· Accident analysis, investigations, and proactive prevention measures.
· Liaise with external parties (insurers/auditors/consultants/other stakeholders)
· Manage the delivery of training as required (or arrange specific external courses)
· Lead on all matters regarding environmental compliance.
· Manage the working environment with regards to Covid 19 safety.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualification and other requirements
* NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or working towards it.
* Proven track record in health and safety management in a food / FMCG manufacturing environment.
* Right to work in the UK and Should be above 18 Years
Technical Skills
* Excellent capability in Microsoft Office products.

* Excellent interpersonal skills/good communicator.
* Be visible across the site and engage well with all staff.
* Ability to act professionally and discreetly.
* Ability to multi-task and manage own workload.

Experience
* Experience of safety audits, BRC audits and compliance.
* Other transferable work experience.
Desirable:
* Experience in a fast moving highly mechanised production environment highly desirable.
* Experience of the meat processing sector is beneficial.
WORKING PATTERN
Working Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Thorne, Doncaster.
