Baysgarth School is a comprehensive school which is built on strong family values, where everyone is seen, recognised and valued. This had led to us becoming one of the most successful and oversubscribed schools in the region. Our students are amazing. They are intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming and appreciative of great teaching. They deserve the best and we intend to make sure that this is what they receive, in every aspect of their school lives. To do this we need outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We strongly feel we have a world class staff team and we are looking for someone to join one of the strongest teams within it. We are currently looking for an inspirational DT Technician to join our well renowned team. Our DT team are leaders nationally in engineering and Greenpower and thanks to their innovation we will have the first school based Test Track in the UK and we are hosting the DT Conference this year, All of this success stems from a dedication and passion to ensure that as a school we produce the engineers, chefs and fashion designers of the future, The school has outstanding facilities in all areas, reflecting our commitment to our staff and students in ensuring the very best conditions for learning. The successful applicant must be ambitious for the students and themselves to join this dynamic team and be able to support the curriculum across all aspects of the DT curriculum but to also have a passion for engineering and be willing to support the extra curricular activities linked to Greenpower and STEM. This post will provide an opportunity to gain experience in working with young people and could form a pathway into our teacher training pathway or there are potential further development opportunities as the school develops its STEM offer commercially over the next 4 years. We know that school is not just about the academic experience and therefore every staff member is expected to have strong inclusive values and play a significant pastoral role, ensuring all our students feel cared for. We pride ourselves on strong relationships with students and helping shape them into successful adults. Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS. If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. Further details and an application form can be downloaded from the school’s website. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the post or organise a visit, please feel free to contact our Head of DT, Ben Wilson on As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
