Student Journey Assistant – External and Internal

Dumfries | £27,768.84 | 35 hours per week | Permanent

What's the Job?

We’re looking for a motivated and customer-focused Student Journey Assistant to join our busy and friendly Student Journey Team. You’ll play a key role in supporting our admissions and onboarding processes - helping students apply, enrol, and get started at College with confidence.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, solving problems on the go, and making a real difference to the student experience. You’ll be working across both digital systems and face-to-face interactions to deliver excellent service at every stage of the journey - from first enquiry through to enrolment.

Hours

 08:45-16:30 – standard working hours, Monday-Friday with occasional evening or weekend work as required

Other Benefits

 Access to an excellent defined-benefit pension scheme

 Up to 45 days annual leave (including bank holidays and college closure dates)

 Opportunities for career progression and personal development

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised individual who thrives in a people-focused environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service. You will bring strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to supporting others. While experience in an educational setting is welcome, it is not essential - what matters most is your professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to creating a positive experience for all.

Applicants should possess:

 A qualification at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as communication, business, digital skills, or customer service

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of people

 Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment

 Confidence in using digital systems and databases to manage and process information accurately and efficiently

 The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team

 A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving

 Experience working with international students or knowledge of UKVI compliance would be advantageous but is not essential.
