Job summary
The purpose of this role is to assist and support the delivery of Health and Safety Training, including Moving and Handling of loads, patient handling and mandatory Health and Safety /Fire/Security training. To provide advice and information on Health and Safety issues involving Staff, patients and members of the public, with support from the Health & Safety Manager.
To work with all staff groups involved in a wide range of clinical and nonclinical services playing a key role in promoting the health, safety and welfare of all employees.
To assist with the Face Fit testing service as required.
To support the Health and Safety Manager in implementing, leading, developing and monitoring trust-wide Health and Safety issues in order to develop a positive Health and Safety culture and to meet statutory and legislative requirements and Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Main duties of the job
* To support the team with the delivery of mandatory training.
* Review training needs of all Trust staff in collaboration with the team, in line with national skills framework.
* To assist the Trust with the prevention of occupationally related accidents and injuries.
* To deliver training.
* To provide advice and information on issues involving Staff, patients and members of the public.
* To work with all staff groups involved in a wide range of clinical and nonclinical services playing a key role in promoting the health, safety and welfare of all employees.
* To assist with the Face Fit testing service as required.
* To assist in the completion of audits.
* To assist with DSE assessments.
* To work with colleagues in Health and Safety Department to identify trends and areas of concern; and to contribute towards the creation of an increased safety conscious culture within the organisation.
* Assist with incident investigations reporting findings, conclusions and recommendations.
* Collate and maintain a database of all Health and Safety risk assessments and safe systems of work, to include completion of post incident risk assessments for incidents where a 'template' risk assessment is in place.
* To maintain own level of competence through self-directed study, training courses and conferences.
