We are currently seeking accounting professionals who have nonprofit / not for profit experience to support that client group. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Depending on the specific client assignments, we offer a hybrid work model allowing flexibility to work remotely some days, on-site at client locations, and/or in our office.
Location: Rochester, NY office. Most positions offer the option to work in the office daily or in a hybrid structure up to 3 days from home.

About Outsource Accounting Services
Our Outsource Accounting Services Group has been supporting clients for over 20 years. Comprising dedicated CPAs, CMAs, Accountants, and Business Managers, we understand the issues faced by Controllers and CFOs. Our technology, experience, and flexibility add real value, providing services from bookkeeping to budgeting and forecasting. Our team ensures clients have the information and advice they need to operate effectively.
Responsibilities
* Project-based accounting work for various local clients.
* Depending on engagement, assist with recording and posting journal entries, month-end close processes, A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, etc.
* Prepare full accruals and manage month-end close processes.
* Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
* Analyze the general ledger, identify, and resolve irregularities to ensure correct financial statements.
* Communicate reporting and compliance requirements with client internal departments, maintaining high-quality service.
* Assist clients with financial statement reporting, cash flow management, and disclosures.
* Support clients' annual operating plans and budgets.
* Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, supervise staff, and communicate with owners and financial institutions.
* Review operational, financial, and technological processes to assess risks, internal controls, and process efficiency.
* May involve establishing or upgrading accounting systems for clients.
Requirements
Associate's degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's preferred. Minimum four years of accounting experience in nonprofit/not-for-profit organizations or public accounting supporting such clients. Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close essential. Supervisory skills and familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Intacct, and Bill.com preferred. Strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and multi-tasking skills necessary. CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.
Starting salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Compensation depends on skills, experience, and location. Incentives may be available based on performance.
