Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Health Services (CHS) Pharmacy team supporting patients in our Virtual Wards within ESHT.
Virtual Wards are a safe and efficient alternative to NHS bedded care enabled by technology. They support patients who would otherwise be in hospital to receive necessary care, monitoring, and treatment at home, either preventing hospital admissions or supporting early discharge.
Our vision at ESHT is a "Clinically led, user-centric, integrated, and digitally enabled" service.
The post holder will provide patient care in patients' homes and must be able to travel independently across sites, utilizing technology to support and monitor patients.
We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and dynamic Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will collaborate with colleagues across the integrated care system to develop high-quality, clinically driven pathways to enhance patient experience.
Main duties of the job
This senior pharmacy technician role involves providing direct specialist support to the virtual ward pharmacy service, working with the Highly Specialist Pharmacist and other members of the CHS pharmacy team, supporting community-based teams (excluding bedded units).
You will collaborate with an integrated workforce of doctors, nurses, AHPs, and specialist colleagues in Respiratory, Heart Failure, and Frailty, liaising across professional and organizational boundaries.
Working for our organisation
We are committed to providing 'Outstanding' care and being a great place to work.
We serve half a million people in East Sussex with safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. Our staff of over 7,000 work across hospitals, community sites, and in patients' homes.
