Job Title – Manufacturing Operations Manager


Reporting directly to the Head of Business Operations and General Manager, the Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Kidlington manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing staff, optimising operational procedures, and collaborating with other departments and partner companies to meet production demands.



Tasks and Accountabilities


  • Plan, organise, and oversee the manufacturing teams to ensure efficient operations and production requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer demands.
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and manage the production supervisors and operators, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work with the quality assurance and governance team to maintain product standards and implement quality control processes.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the customer (partner companies) and maintain effective communications
  • Management oversight of the budget for the Kidlington manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to agreed annual budget
  • Collaborate as required with all Prismatic functional teams to ensure efficient and compliant manufacturing operations


Requirements


Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations management.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams that are going through a period of growth/ change.


Desirable:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP/ MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing tools and techniques with evidence of where you have used them previously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and using computer systems.
  • Ability to mentor and train other users.
  • Careful and organised approach to tasks.
  • Reliable in respect of quality and timeliness of deliverable items.
  • Evidence of taking ownership of problems/ high level requirements.


Additional Information

The role is based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire; however, there will be occasional travel to our Alton, Hampshire, site and other businesses as required.


What We Offer

  • Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (excluding breaks). The role is solely office based.
  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000, dependent on experience.
