Minimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required.
A full-time, on-site position is available for a School Psychologist to support an elementary school setting. This contract role spans the 2025-2026 school year, from September 2, 2025, through June 11, 2025, with a 37.5-hour workweek. The position is located in Newport, OR, with consideration for candidates near Lincoln City to serve grades K-6.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations for both general education and special education students
* Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to develop tailored intervention plans
* Managing a caseload averaging 1:800 general education students and 1:130 special education students, adjusting as needed based on assignment
* Providing crisis intervention and counseling services as necessary
* Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributing psychological expertise
* Supporting school-wide initiatives related to student mental health and well-being
Qualifications or desired experience:
* Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
* Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in grades K-6
* Strong knowledge of psychological testing, assessment tools, and educational laws related to special education
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently
