My client, a market leader within their sector is looking for an ambitious Tooling Design Engineer to join the team. This role will involve the full design of all Tooling and Mechanical assemblies for the business in line with customer requirements and current safety guidelines. This business operates in a secure market, with a strong customer base. This opportunity offers long term security and technical development.
Role Description
1. Ensure the accurate and timely production of Tooling and Mechanical Assemblies upon instruction from Head of Design and Design Team Leader.
2. Ensure that all designs adhere to the relevant machinery directives.
3. Produce fully detailed Tooling & Machine design drawings to BS8888-2011 to aid production, manufacturing and assembly.
4. Adhere to the Company’s Continuous Improvement programme and contribute daily to the team SQCDP boards.
5. Offer ideas for improving working practices, identify potential issues and offer cost-effective solutions.
6. Ensure that fault finding activity is arranged to cause minimum disruption to the customer and that situations are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible
7. Ensure that all documentation and information is maintained and stored on a day-to-day basis and in the appropriate manner.
8. Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
9. Adhere to customer’s site factory rules and hygiene regulations following their Health and Safety Notices to Contractors where appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications
10. Qualified to minimum HND level Mechanical Engineering
11. CAD package experience, EdgeCam is preferred
12. Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
13. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders
