About The Role
If you want to take your first step into a career supporting young people to achieve their potential then we would love to hear from you.
Due to a need for maternity cover, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Youth Development Worker at
Carthew House in St Austell
supported accommodation for young parents aged 16-25.
We take a strength based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.
Every day is different; you could be delivering 1-2-1 support sessions on life skills, reviewing an action plan, supporting a young person to a medical appointment, contributing to a multi-agency meeting or supporting group activities as part of the learning programme.
You will be providing key worker support to our young people. Working through support and action plans, updating risk assessments and risk management plans with them, in order for them to develop the life skills necessary to move on and live independently in the community.
One of the great things about this role is being able to bring your own personality. Our young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and we try to mirror that in our team of colleagues.
