Pastoral Support Officer
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with pupils, families, and school staff to provide targeted support, monitor progress, and contribute to positive outcomes for students.
Secondary schools across Gateshead are recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer to work with pupils requiring additional emotional, behavioural, or attendance-related support. This role plays a key part in helping students remain engaged with education and school routines.
Key responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with behaviour, wellbeing, and attendance
* Working with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis
* Liaising with pastoral teams, teachers, and external agencies
* Supporting students during lessons and unstructured times
Requirements
* Experience in a pastoral, youth, or school-based role is preferred but not essential
* A strong interest in student wellbeing and inclusion
* Ability to build professional working relationships
