Job Description:

Lead all lending activities at Shuffle. Including ownership of the credit risk model, the risk appetite for the business and even the deployment schedule to help make the shuffle lending business a core revenue driver. You would balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution to enable fast iterations in our lending and risk management approach—crucial for our early-stage growth and future success.

Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing

Define and own the Shuffle credit risk model - be the core owner and decision maker around how Shuffle views credit risk with its lending operations.

Build an automated risk decisioning process - Implement lending processes that improve efficiency and reliability. Enable Shuffle to grow its lending book by 10x in one year.

Be Hands-On – We expect you to be deeply involved in lending strategy, underwriting, and risk assessment. You'll play a key role in designing and executing lending frameworks that push our platform forward.

Work closely with the rest of the founders to build the best possible financial products for millions of financially savvy consumers in the UK.

Fundraising - work with the founders and external support in helping Shuffle raise future debt facilities. You would be expected to provide excellent reporting and data to assist in the fundraise process.

Skills and Qualifications

Lending Expertise – Deep understanding of credit risk, underwriting, and portfolio management. Experience scaling lending products and maintaining compliance. Previous experience running a lending function is a must have.

Execution & Speed – Moves fast, balancing rapid iteration with long-term stability.

Ownership – Takes full responsibility for lending outcomes and team performance.

Team Leadership – Hires, mentors, and retains A+ talent while fostering a high-performance culture.

Business & Product Mindset – Aligns lending decisions with business impact.

What is the hiring process?

We try to make the hiring process as transparent as possible. Our aim is to make sure we’re the right place for you to do amazing things. Our interview process normally involves four main stages:

Stage 1: Initial call with Co-founder (30 mins)

First off, we’d love to chat to find out more about you and to tell you more about us. This usually happens over a video call.

Stage 2: Technical Interview (60 min)

You will be sent a challenge and assessed by a 3rd party expert in lending.

Stage 3 : Experience and Value-Based Interview (60 min)

We’ll deep dive into your CV and talk about your past experiences & your lending expertise. We also want to learn more about how you work - we’ll ask you questions related to our principles.

Stage 4: Get some food or drinks

To close off the interview process, we want to first off thank you for all the time you’ve invested in getting to know us.
