Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a growing Cheshire based general contractor delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality projects. They place strong emphasis on excellent service for clients and stakeholders and specialise in commercial, residential, education and leisure refurbishments. Projects are delivered across traditional and design-and-build contracts, with values ranging from £250k to £10m+.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and play a key role in the financial management of refurbishment and retrofit projects. Working closely with project and leadership teams, the successful candidate will support the delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring commercial control and value are maintained throughout.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the pre-construction process, including cost planning, tender analysis and contract negotiations
* Manage project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting
* Prepare and agree subcontractor packages and manage subcontractor accounts
* Monitor and manage variations, change control and risk
* Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
* Work closely with project and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
* Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships
Key Skills & Experience
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
* Minimum 56 years experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role
* Experience working on refurbishment and retrofit projects preferred
* Strong understanding of traditional and design-and-build contracts
* Excellent written, numerical and communication skills
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Person Specification
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks end-to-end
* Strong understanding of the construction sector
* Confident using commercial and cost management systems
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, consultative approach
* Ability to build long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
* Detail-oriented team player with a positive and solutions-focused mindset
