KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Financial Operations:
Prepare mid-month and end-of-month payment runs, ensuring all transactions are accurate and timely.
* Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and business liquidity.
* Debtors Management:
Develop and implement strategies to reduce debtor days and improve cash collection efficiency.
* Cost Control:
Drive cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies across the organization.
* Management Reporting:
Prepare monthly management accounts and contribute to the creation of board reports.
* Contract:
Manage new contracts in line with company processes
* Compliance and Reporting:
Review and submit quarterly VAT returns and support year-end audit and statutory account preparation. Support on budgeting and forecasting.
* Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with contract managers, finance team, and senior leaders; adopt a hands-on approach as needed.
* Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of two finance assistants, fostering professional development and accountability.
* Finance Admin/Support:
Perform additional duties as directed by the Finance Director Assist with operational finance tasks to meet deadlines and maintain smooth workflow. Contribute to system enhancements and implementation projects.
REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to start in April.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Proven experience in an SME or high-growth environment; commercial cleaning or facilities management experience is advantageous.
* Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
* A confident and articulate communicator capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience in managing and mentoring finance teams.
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
* A 'can-do' attitude is required as well as experience within a sizeable business.
