PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £86,900 - £90,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We're looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to lead our centralised advisory team who serve our employees based in the UK. Reporting into the Head of HR you will lead a team made up of HR Advisers, Senior HR Advisers, HR Specialists and Associate HR Business Partners. This team partners closely with Divisional colleagues to drive people strategies that help achieve business goals and deliver real value to our audience.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Be a key architect of our evolving HR operating model, helping shape how we deliver people support across the organisation.
* Lead and develop high-performing HR operational teams, delivering frontline and specialist support to line managers and staff across the BBC.
* Drive continuous improvement and service excellence, challenging the status quo, ensuring processes, systems, and technologies are fit for purpose and continuously improved to exceed service level agreements and KPIs.
* Champion integration across the HR function, working closely with Divisional Business Partners and the wider People Services leadership team to deliver a cohesive, high-impact HR service.
* Embed a culture of performance and engagement, developing leadership capability and fostering an inclusive, agile, and future-ready workforce.
* Influence strategic direction, translating organisational goals into practical delivery and ensuring HR remains responsive to evolving business needs.
* Strengthen governance and compliance, enhancing controls and procedures to ensure robust service delivery.
* Represent People Services and HR at senior levels, building trusted relationships across the BBC and externally, and acting as a visible advocate for People Services.
* Embedding consistency, strengthening hand-offs and ensuring HR is positioned as a strategic enabler.
* Using data and external insights to shape decision making.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Proven experience in business partnering within a complex, matrixed organisation.
* A strong track record of leading teams in a centralised model and building a high-performance culture.
* A strategic, proactive and collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes that matter.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
* Strong track record of driving continuous improvement in HR service delivery, including process optimisation and technology enablement.
* Experience in setting and exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Experience in navigating complex governance structures and aligning centralised services with divisional needs.
* Experience fostering a culture of coaching, feedback, and professional growth
* Strong analytical skills with experience using HR data and external insights to inform strategy and improve service delivery.
* Skilled in managing expectations and resolving conflicts in a high-pressure environment
