Job Overview
We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team for a fixed term of one year. The position involves a split role as Medicines Safety Officer and Lead Pharmacist for the Learning Disability services. The role deputises for the Pharmacist Team Manager for Education, Training and Governance and is based in Chelmsford while supporting staff and services across the Trust. This is a full‑time position (37.5 hours weekly) that includes participation in on‑call, weekend, early, late and bank holiday rotas as required.
Main Duties
* Model best practice and coach pharmacy teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality pharmaceutical care for all patients.
* Set and maintain professional standards across the pharmacy team and facilitate their development toward the next level of their careers.
* Lead Medicines Safety initiatives within the Trust, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Mentor and line‑manage team members, driving improvements in operational delivery and clinical pharmacy practice.
Qualifications & Experience
* Master’s Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Evidence of postgraduate training and continuing professional development in clinical pharmacy practice, preferably within mental health.
* Strong experience in mentoring, line‑managing teams and delivering high‑performance pharmacy services.
* Empathetic leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to see the broader picture of patient care.
