The job:
This is a casual post to support a young lady approaching 40. She has mild Learning Disabilities and Epilepsy. She is independent, energetic, loves to laugh, enjoys socialising and lives in the Derwenthorpe area of York.
Duties include:
* light housework
* cooking
* prompting medication
* shopping
* supporting to socialise and enjoy activities in the wider community
Your role will be to cover sickness and holiday shifts for other staff.
The right person:
Because of the personal care support, the young lady requires female carers. You must be kind and caring, reliable, confident and assertive. No qualifications are needed, but a minimum of 6 months of experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities is required. You should also have a good sense of humour and enjoy a good laugh!
It would be an advantage if you can drive and have your own vehicle for work purposes, but not required.
The hours:
This is a bank role to pick up shifts to cover holidays and sickness.
The rates of pay and benefits:
£12.41 per hour and £81.92 per sleep in.
You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday and the opportunity for training relevant to your role.
