Electrical Design Engineer – Defence Sector

Please note: Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC level or above).
What You Will Do
Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems and sub-systems for military vehicle platforms and associated equipment.
Produce and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, design specifications, and technical documentation to meet contractual, safety, and cost requirements.
Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and quality standards.
Support validation and verification activities, including developing test plans, schedules, and detailed technical reports.
Ensure all electrical designs fully consider safety, reliability, maintainability, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Manage workload independently, delivering designs on time and within budget, while conducting peer reviews and quality checks to maintain high engineering standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and champion best practices within the design team.
What You Will Bring
A Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Proficiency in 3D electrical CAD tools such as CREO, NX, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric tolerancing, and configuration control.
Experience designing electrical components and systems for new product development and legacy product support.
A flexible, innovative approach to problem‑solving, supported by excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
Clear communication abilities and a collaborative mindset, with the confidence to contribute effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance and willingness to undergo the vetting process.
