An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Ecologist to join a well-established, independent consultancy based in Birmingham. This position is ideal for an Assistant Ecologist who is ready to progress their career and move into a Consultant Ecologist position.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting protected species surveys (bats, great crested newts, reptiles, birds)
* Contributing to the production of tenders and fee quotations
* Producing technical reports (PEA, BNG, species reports, etc)
* Managing small to medium-sized projects
What You'll Need:
* A degree in ecology or related discipline
* Minimum 2 years’ consultancy experience
* Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation
* Protected species license (preferred but, not needed)
* CIEEM membership (preferred)
* Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork within West Midlands
