About the Role
We are seeking a committed and resilient Maths Teacher to join our specialist SEMH provision from January for a two-term placement. You will teach Maths to students aged 11-16, supporting them up to GCSE level. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. ECTs are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons for SEMH students (KS3-KS4).
* Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.
* Build strong, trusting relationships to support regulation and positive behaviour.
* Work collaboratively with the SEN/SEMH team, pastoral leads, and support staff.
* Track progress, maintain records, and contribute to personalised learning plans.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Essential Requirements
* Strong subject knowledge in Maths (to GCSE level).
* Experience working with SEMH pupils, or in PRU/alternative provision settings.
* Ability to manage behaviour using trauma-informed and relational approaches.
* Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping vulnerable learners succeed.
Desirable
* QTS/QTLS is welcomed but not essential.
* ECTs encouraged to apply.
* Experience delivering GCSE Maths or functional skills.
* Understanding of SEND frameworks and SEMH strategies.
