TheRole:ResidentialChildcareWorker
InthisroleyouwillformpartoftheteamworkinginourNEWchildrenshomeatLilyResidentialServicessupportingina 1:1capacity.Thishomewillofferspecialisedcaredesignedtoprovideindividualisedsupportforchildrenandyoungpeoplewithspecificandcomplexneedsthatmaynotthriveintraditionalgrouphomesettings. Thisrolewillincludeshiftworkandsleep-inthepropertyonaverage2.33aweek.
AsaResidentialChildcareWorker,youwillbeinvolvedinsupporttheyoungpersonsactivitiessuchas:
* Outdooractivities,beachdays,walksaroundtheparksorlocalarea,cycling,paddleboarding,movienightsin,adventureparks,weeklyhousetakeawaysandmealsout.
* Asarolemodeltoouryoungpeopleyouwillprovidedailycareandsupporttochildrenandyoungpeopletomakesuretheycanmakegoodchoices.
* Teachingandpromotinglifeskillstohelpthechilddevelopindependenceandself-sufficiency.
* Youwillsupportintherunningofthehomesuchascookingthehomemeals,cleaning,supportinginmaintainingahomethatouryoungpeoplewanttolivein,firstaid,healthandsafety,gardening,growingyourownveg(ifspaceallows!).
AsaResidentialChildcareWorker,youwillalso:
* Ensuringthephysicalandemotionalsafetyofthechildbymaintainingasecureandsupportiveenvironment.
* Developingstrong,trustingrelationshipswiththechildtoprovideemotionalsupportandstability.
* Implementingtherapeutictechniquesandinterventionsaspartofacareplan.
* Maintainingaccurateanddetailedrecordsofthechildsprogress,behaviours,andanyincidents.
* Supportingthechildseducationalneeds,includinghelpingwithhomeworkandliaisingwithschools.
* Participatinginregulartrainingsessionstostayupdatedonbestpracticesinchildcare,behaviourmanagement,andtherapeuticinterventions.
* Engaginginreflectivepracticetocontinuallyimprovethequalityofcareprovided.
* Actingasanadvocateforthechild'sneedsandrightswithinthehomeandininteractionswithexternalagencies.
* Empoweringthechildbyinvolvingthemindecisionsabouttheircareandencouragingself-advocacyskills.
* Engageinenrichingactivitiesandassistwithdailytasks.
* Workinshifts,includingweekendsandsleep-inshifts,toensureround-the-clocksupport.
