Join to apply for the Generalist Specialist Podiatrist role at NHS Scotland.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Podiatrist to join our small rural team providing podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland. The post is based at Lerwick Health Centre, with other clinics at Gilbert Bain Hospital, outlying health centres, domiciliary visits and care homes. The post requires the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery.
This post can be offered as a development post. Appointment at Band 5 will include an initial period of supervision and mentorship, with progression to Band 6 under Annex 21.

Responsibilities
* Coordinate, develop and lead aspects of the Podiatry service.
* Provide high-quality care in general podiatry and participate in specialist clinics (MSK, diabetes and wound care) and rotational nail surgery clinics.
* Work within a busy Podiatry Service, coordinating workloads to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
* Standards of practice include professional development and CPD, service improvement activities, and contributing to team objectives.
* Travel across the service area to deliver care in clinics, domiciliary visits and care homes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Podiatrist with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to organise workloads in a timely and efficient manner.
* Willingness to participate in CPD and service improvement activities.
* Eligibility to work in the UK; ability to join PVG scheme as required.
Employment Details
* Full-time post – 37 hours per week.
* Can be offered as a development post.
* Band 6 salary range up to £50,702 per annum or Band 5 £33,247 - £41,424 per annum (Annex 21 during development).
* Distant Island Allowance of £2,482 per annum.
* Relocation assistance up to £8,000.
Location and Travel
* Lerwick Health Centre with clinics at Gilbert Bain Hospital and other sites.
* Willingness to travel throughout Shetland’s service area is essential.
