Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you a caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Tavistock from September 2025.
This is a full-time, term-time only position, working closely with primary-aged pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential in a nurturing and structured environment.
About the Role:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs
* Support class teachers in delivering tailored, engaging lessons and managing behaviour positively
* Help pupils to regulate emotions and build social and communication skills
* Assist with planning and preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
* Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in a primary setting
* A nurturing, consistent, and patient approach to support behaviour and learning
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
