About this opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Adult Social Care team in Westmorland and Furness, supporting individuals with care and support needs through strengths-based assessments and personalised support. Our focus is on promoting independence and enabling people to maximise their strengths while working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes. This role is vital in delivering high-quality, person-centred support that aligns with the council’s commitment to improving services for our community.
You will work under the guidance of qualified practitioners, managing a caseload and conducting assessments to develop tailored support plans. You will play an active role in risk management, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring individuals receive effective support. Opportunities for professional development are available, and you will be supported to grow in your role while upholding legislation, standards, and best practices. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and helping people navigate the care system, we would love to hear from you.
This role is within our Support at Home service, operating between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Rota patterns will include alternate weekends and Bank Holidays.
Who we are looking for
We seek a compassionate, motivated individual with experience or awareness of social care, healthcare, or the voluntary sector. A Level 3 qualification in Care (or willingness to work towards one) and strong communication skills are essential. You should have a proactive approach to risk management, moving and handling, and health and safety, along with the ability to plan workloads, meet deadlines, and use IT effectively. Most importantly, you should be committed to promoting independence, influencing positive change, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
