Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Ledger Clerk. The Ledger Clerk will handle daily bookkeeping tasks, manage financial records, assist in the preparation of financial statements, and use accounting software to maintain accurate financial information. The role is based in Cardiff, with some flexibility for working from home.
Main Responsibilities for the role are:
* Provide documentation to auditors for queries relating to accounts payable and sales ledger.
* Reconciliation of trade debtors and sales ledger control account with investigation of differences.
* Reconciliation of trade creditors and purchase ledger control account, including matching supplier payments and recording credit notes.
* Reconciliation of GRN and resolution of differences with the supplier.
* Prepare and process weekly BACS report.
* Apply customer balances to DD for collection.
* Review and record business transactions (e.g invoices, expense claims, receipts, accounts payable).
* Creation of supplier and customer accounts.
* Regular update of aged debt report with review of underlying customer data, ensuring this is kept up-to-date and reliable (deposits, payment terms, status etc.).
* Manage queries with suppliers, liaise with suppliers and internal teams regarding supplier accounts.
* Work alongside the Management Accountant to produce accurate allocation of costs across P&L.
* Implement debt collection procedures.
* Provide flexible high-quality support to the finance team as and when necessary.
The ideal candidate for the role will have relevant experience gained within a finance function. They will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise work and a passion to support the wider business and our stakeholders. The role will require the daily use of Excel, Outlook, Word, Xero and BREWW and prior experience would be helpful. AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential for those candidates with strong experience.
