To be responsible for the efficient management and direction of theadministration team, ensuring all administrative duties are performedeffectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of thepractice.
The post holder will be a member of the surgery management team theywill ensure the effective processing of all administrative work and appropriateliaison with the reception and administration team while supporting thedelivery of Local and National KPIs and ensuring the practice complies with CQCregulations.
To support the management team in promoting Equality Diversity and Inclusion,Safety Health Environment Fire, quality and continuous improvement,confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning anddevelopment, and to carry out other duties as directed by the managementteam.
Main duties of the job
The Reception Manager is responsible for:
a)Overseeing the administration andsupport operations of the practice,
b)Line managing the reception team,supporting staff development,, ensuring staffare up to date with mandatory training.
c)Completing staff appraisals asrequired
d)Identifying and delivering teamtraining where required
e) Compiling reception team rotas, ensure the practice Reception Team hasadequate cover at all times.
f)Reviewing and updating all administrativeand reception policies and procedures as required
g)Supporting the management team inthe compilation of practice reports and the practice development plan
h)Developing, implementing andembedding efficient office processes and procedures to adhere to extantlegislation.
i)Coordinating the provision oftemporary administrative and reception staff, ensuring sufficient cover isprovided for periods of leave and other staff absences.
j)Providing guidance andadvice to patients who wish to verbally complain.
k)Managing all deliveries to thepractice, ensuring adherence to the cold chain policy as necessary
l)Acting as building fire marshal,ensuring evacuation lists are current and that the visitors log is usedappropriately.
m)Be able to cover all areas ofreception role.
n)Support staff to reach their fullpotential and identify training needs
o)Any other tasks allocated.

a) Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead.
b) Coordinate and produce meeting agendas and record the minutes ofmeetings.
c) Champion continuous improvement, encouraging staff to participate andmake suggestions for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
d) Assist with QOF targets.
