Our Gardener role:
We're looking for a Gardener to support our small team in
maintaining our grounds, You'll be tending to our grass, borders, fields, and
parking areas at our hotel, Another Place, The Lake and at our pub The
Brackenrigg Inn.
A contemporary countryside hotel, converted from an 18th
century home, Another Place, The Lake is surrounded by beautiful gardens and
parkland. Designed by Laurel Truscott, out hotel interweave plants, pathways, meadows,
and orchards, into a cohesive, biodiverse, and multisensory experience that
feels both natural and purposeful.
Our pub is also cherished part of our local community.
Situated on Ullswater's northeast shore, The Brackenrigg Inn is a five-minute
walk from the hotel and features six acres of meadows, reflecting our passion
for our historical roots and wider cultural and natural connection to the area.
Our grounds are a continual source of inspiration for our
guests and team, and we take great pride in ensuring that they showcase the
beauty and wonder of our landscape.

As our Gardener you'll be:
1. Maintaining
our grass and lawns.
2. Maintaining
our flower beds.
3. Weeding
our beds and paths.
4. Trimming
hedges.
5. Leaf
blowing.
6. Keeping
our drives free of leaves and debris.
7. Supporting
with general gardening duties.
8. Developing
and maintaining our kitchen garden.
9. Ensuring
equipment is maintained in good & safe working order.
The skills you'll be sharing with us:
10. Previous
experience of working within gardening or landscaping
11. Ability
to safely use and maintain gardening tools and machinery
12. A
self-motivated self-started with a team-centred approach
13. Excellent
attention to detail
14. Responsible,
reliable, and dependable
15. Strong
time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
16. Standard
knowledge of plants, shrubs, and seasonal planting requirements
17. Knowledge
of basic health & safety procedures in an outdoor working environment
18. Comfortable
undertaking duties that involve manual handling and physical activity
19. Experience
with lawn care, pruning, and general grounds maintenance (desirable)
20. Awareness
of environmentally friendly and sustainable gardening practices
(desirable)
