An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Support Worker within the Theatre Department at the William Harvey Hospital. Responsibilities
* Under supervision, provide assistance to the multidisciplinary team in delivering a high standard of patient care within the Theatres, Day Surgery and other departments. Participate in Theatre and Day Surgery work as directed by Senior Staff.
* Pack and unpack instrument trolleys and deliver sterile items to theatres and other departments. Track instruments using a scanning device onto the T-DOC operating system (site specific).
* Provide a patient transportation service within the Surgical Directorate, collecting and returning patients from and to other wards and departments.
* After appropriate training, assist theatre staff in delivering direct patient care within the operating theatre by undertaking the role of the circulating practitioner during surgical procedures, or working within the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
