As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer (known internally as a Maintenance Electrician), you will be part of our hands-on in-house team responsible for keeping the plant running by ensuring equipment operates smoothly. From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will work on specialist machinery to support the efficiency and reliability of our production processes. The role offers a varied electrical skill set across an in-house environment and a dynamic daily workload.
We provide PPE to enable you to work safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
* Install and maintain all electrical and electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery
* Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
* Fault finding and repairs
* Program Siemens and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
* Use various testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
* Promote Lean thinking
* Attend breakdowns
* Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
* Adhere to Wienerberger’s quality system and standards in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001
Hours Of Work
The normal working pattern is 4 on 4 off, over an 8-week rolling shift pattern of “earlies” and “lates” which averages 38.125 hours per week. Ear l ies are typically 6:30am to 6:30pm and lates are typically 11:00am to 11:00pm. Any shifts that fall on the weekend will be “earlies” with varying start times depending on the rota, with a finish time no later than 7:00pm.
About You
You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing/factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline. Safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice. You’ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently. As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you’ll be fit enough to perform your various duties.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics
* Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers)
Desirable
* 17th/18th edition qualified (training could be provided)
* Completed a hands-on apprenticeship
* HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
